I saw your post in P101. Check out my userinfo for some cool parenting communities...and to find friends check out meet_other_moms. Its an add me community designed for that.

As far as livejournal goes its truly my favorite! To friend someone you can hover over their icon and it will give you that option to add them to your list. I've added you...so to add me back you just click add friend after hovering over my icon. Then you will be able to read my journal.

A lot of people keep their journal's friend's only (myself included) to protect ones privacy. If there is a certain entry you'd like to protect there will be an option to do so after posting...it will ask you what security settings you want at the bottom of the entry. I always make every entry viewable to friends. There will be a little lock on the entry to indicate that it is locked.

I SUCK at posting pics so you may need someone a little more saavvy to figure that out. Welcome :)

To post pics...

When you click on post - like you did to post this one...there will be a tool bar above the window you type in. Towards the middle, there is a square shaped icon that looks like a photo. When you click on that, it will make a pop-up box appear. In that box, click on the upload tab....from there, you can search your computer for what you would like to post.

oh...you can also copy and paste into the window you type in. I think that is the easiest way.

I believe posting pics depends on how your client works. When you come on to make a post do you have rich text option? If so there will be a little icon in your tool bar area that looks like a picture. Click on it and you will have the option to enter a link from your photo account(photobucket, flicker etc). You copy and paste the link into the box, hit enter and you have a picture! Or you can do HTML by using this code without the asterisks: <*img alt""*=src="this is where your image link will go"*/*> This works in comments as well, and you can also use basic html for creating italics and bold etc, or if you have a rich text client you can use that when making posts.

You'll make friends (and probably enemies lol) as time goes on, and you can search for people with similar interests by typing in an interest into the little box on the right hand side of your screen up there.
